Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Ryan has always been involved in some form of fitness related activity
It began with karate (in which he holds a black belt) and kickboxing (which he practiced for 15 years). But after years of “of trying to get big”, Ryan decided to take proper nutrition and training seriously. It took 4 years of hard work to drop the 70 lbs of “bad weight”, but it got him into the fighting shaped needed not only to compete in the fitness world, but the mental shape needed to know that anything is possible with a little grit.
I achieved 1st Place and Overall Physique Winner at the BCABBA Victoria Cup 2015. I also earned a 2nd place finish at the 2016 BCABBA Vancouver Pro-Am amateur Provincial show which qualified me for CBBF Canadian Nationals!
My Grandparents, my wife and my mom and dad for their incredible support and for teaching me the importance of a strong work ethic.
I try to offer my knowledge and past experience to others without hesitation when asked. I went from 140 lbs at 5’6″ out of high school to 230lbs after college, and realized I needed to make some serious lifestyle changes. I use this as examples of how you can achieve anything in the fitness world if you’re willing to put in the work.
A Mutant Coconut Cream flavoured protein shake and a walk with my dog to wind down from a hard training session.
Competing at CBBF Canadian Nationals for Physique and winning my class or better yet, my IFBB pro card.
