I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where I studied Exercise Science at the University of Windsor. I was always active on and off throughout my high school and college years but never fully committed to learning and experiencing fitness first-hand, although I knew I had a passion for it.
I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in 2017 and had my daughter the following year in 2018. After having my daughter at the age of 22, I gained over 50 lbs as a result of a very unhealthy pregnancy. I was weak, immobile and insecure… I was in a very unhealthy relationship with myself and others, and extremely dissatisfied with my physical appearance.
So… My fitness journey began as a little “me time”… I fell in love with sweating, listening to podcasts and music, and just escaping.
When I was able to get into the gym (post-newborn days), I started working out more and more, although I had no idea what I was really doing. It wasn’t until I took a part-time job at a gym, when I really learned the ins and outs of weightlifting and bodybuilding. I took a step down that path and have never looked back.
As my journey in weightlifting began, I started to share recordings and photos of my workouts and meals with my small audience online of close friends and family. It became a habit for me to post my day to day life as I learned more and more about weight training and nutrition. I began to receive feedback that my posts were motivational and inspiring to others! As the Instagram page continued to grow, I began to see the difference my daily posts were making for people — this sparked a light in me!
