Meet Mackenzie

I’m a 21-year-old athlete who considers myself “blessed with a curse,” as I struggle with an auto-immune disease and a former addiction to excessive exercising. My struggles, however, have not held me back from excelling in the sport of bodybuilding or Medical School.

Despite my body numbness, tingling, digestive issues, and other debilitating health concerns, I can use my personal struggles each day to shine her light onto the lives of others.

Place to visit or travel

My family has a cabin about 1.5 hours from where I live, going out there and spending time with my family is my favorite place to be! It’s a ton of fun to surf, boat, read in the sun, or just spend time fishing with my dad.

Extra Motivation

I think everyone gets pumped up from seeing videos or photos of their favorite athletes, but my greatest motivation comes from my previous health issues. I have an auto-immune disease which I was lucky to catch early on in my life. Because of it I always start my days and my workouts thanking the Universe for blessing me with a healthy enough body to do what I’m able to do and love each day.

Although my health still affects my day to day life, I always am grateful that I am healthy enough to be active and live a beautiful life. When I am having a rough day or feeling a bit down I reflect on no matter how horrible my situation is, it could ALWAYS be much worse!

FAVORITE SUPPLEMENTS

I could not go a day without Perfect Sport’s Diesel Protein! Being a Celiac, I am VERY limited to what I can put into my body. This protein is FANTASTIC for a quick recovery AND is accepted by my picky body. It proves just how clean this protein is.

Perfect Sport’s Diesel Protein

Mackenzie’s Giant Protein Cookie

Ingredients:
1 banana
1 scoop protein
1 handful of sugar, dairy, and gluten- free chocolate chips
1\4 oat flour
Directions:
1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients untill a thick cookie dough-like texture
2. Put giant cookie on a cookie sheet (or split the dough into 6 smaller balls)
3. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 6 minutes
4. ENJOY!!

Breakfast

1\2 cup Oats
1\2 Banana OR 1.5 cup Strawberries
2 tsp almond butter MIXED with 2 tsp sunflower butter
1 scoop of protein powder
All baked in the oven for 10 minutes! IT IS HEAVEN

Snack

Protein Mug Cake (I typically have this before bed each night)
Mix 1 scoop of protein with some water and bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes

Lunch

1 tsp Brain Octane (SO incredible for you)
1 cup cooked veggies (always switching it up for a variety of nutrients but beets and radishes are my favorite)
4 oz chicken
1\4 cup rice
Salsa (the spicier the better)

Dinner

STIR FRY (Again- the spicier the better)
A mixture of any veggies
4 oz Chicken
1\4 Avocado
1\4 Rice
Salsa!
