Meet Michelle

My name is Michelle Jaworski and I grew up in Surrey, BC. I have a degree in Psychology, and I’ve worked as a Cake Decorator, and as a Support Worker for teenage girls with mental health issues and substance abuse problems. I’m currently a 911 Operator, and I can say without any hesitation that I fully love my job. It’s the most rewarding and satisfying job I’ve ever had.

I’m also very passionate about bodybuilding. I was not particularly active in my younger years, and I often struggled with my self-esteem and sense of self-worth. I turned to bodybuilding as a way to gain confidence and create purpose in my life. I began bodybuilding in 2011, and competed in my first fitness show in 2013. I placed 6th, missing a qualification for Provincials by one placing. A year later I competed in the same show and placed 4th, qualifying for Provincials. The following year I placed 3rd at Provincials, qualifying for Nationals. Unfortunately, Nationals did not go as hoped and I placed 15th. Initially, I felt defeated and disappointed, but I know that our struggles are what often develop our strengths, and I’m excited to come back better than ever, when the time is right!

Favorite way to sweat

It depends on my mood. I love long, steady-state sessions on the elliptical with my music blasting. I zone out and finish my session feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I also enjoy sprints on the treadmill, I love pushing my body to its limits, and I always experience a wicked endorphin rush.

I listen to a variety of dance and electronic music on Spotify or Apple Music. Sometimes I listen to old school hip-hop or rap.

Place to visit or travel

When I’m looking to relax, I definitely enjoy the tropical destinations, but when I’m feeling adventurous, anywhere completely foreign is my place of choice!

Extra Motivation

I find motivation internally. I’ve always had a voice in my head telling to do more and be more. I know that life is a precious gift, I don’t want to waste it.
